Volunteer Coordinator – Community Services Full-Time  

The Volunteer Coordinator is an integral part of SAGE’s Community Services Department, working out of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center. The Volunteer Coordinator will be part of a team that has overall responsibility for SAGE group programming produced at the LGBT Community Center, with social, educational, supportive, volunteer, outreach and advocacy aspects.

Deputy Director for Programs Full-Time  

SAGE is seeking a full-time Deputy Director for Programs who will work in partnership with the Executive Director and members of SAGE’s senior staff team, and will oversee all aspects of SAGE’s programs. The Deputy Director for Programs will be responsible for ensuring that SAGE’s programs are developed and implemented in a manner consistent with the organization’s new Strategic Plan and will oversee the creation and implementation of exciting new program directions as envisioned by the Plan. The Deputy Director for Programs will supervise SAGE’s various program directors. The Deputy Director for Programs reports directly to the Executive Director.

Director of Institutional Giving Full-Time  

SAGE (Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Elders) is the oldest and largest organization in the country working on behalf of LGBT older people. Headquartered in New York City, SAGE provides social services, offers training and technical assistance, and serves as a national advocacy voice on LGBT aging issues.

SAGE is seeking a full-time Director of Institutional Giving who will manage the institutional giving program at SAGE, including all foundation, government, and corporate funding sources. Key activities include prospect research and identification, cultivation (including building ties with foundation and government representatives), proposal writing combined with budget preparation, acknowledgement and recognition. The Director reports directly to the Director of Development, with close working relationships to the Deputy and Executive Directors, and Senior program managers.

Director of Development & External Affairs Full-Time  

SAGE is seeking a full-time Director of Development & External Affairs who will work in partnership with the Executive Director and SAGE’s Board of Directors and will oversee all aspects of SAGE’s fundraising. The Director of Development & External Affairs will lead a growing 6-person department that not only supports SAGE’s current operating needs, but also fashions and executes a fundraising program that ensures the organization can meet the financial goals of its new Strategic Plan. This leadership position is responsible for driving SAGE’s fundraising efforts so that they meet the organization’s annual goals for all revenue streams. The Director of Development & External Affairs is also responsible for overseeing SAGE’s marketing and communications program in the furtherance of the organization’s new Strategic Plan. This position reports to the Executive Director.

This is a challenge to lead a growing Development Department that supports the nation’s oldest and largest organization serving and advocating for LGBT seniors. SAGE is the undisputed leader in the LGBT aging field and has just adopted an ambitious new Strategic Plan that will result in a major expansion of its programs both locally and nationally.

The Director of Development & External Affairs has the opportunity to fashion a development strategy that builds on existing relationships and agency strengths, but also meets the ambitious goals of SAGE’s Strategic Plan by taking the organization to the next level of fundraising. SAGE seeks to grow its budget to $6 million over the next five years in order to support exciting program expansion.

The Director of Development & External Affairs also has the opportunity to manage SAGE’s positive brand, strengthen it, and expand its reach. This year SAGE is celebrating its 30th Anniversary and presenting its 4th National Conference on LGBT Aging, sponsored by AARP.
