Chris Delatorre is the Senior Digital Content Manager for Support & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE), where he creates dynamic content for the organization and maintains SAGE’s web properties. As a communications consultant for science, technology and philanthropy initiatives, Chris has worked with global leaders like the United Nations, the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technologies, TechSoup, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Most recently as managing editor, he launched the editorial program for WINGS, a metanetwork whose partnerships with the UN, Ford Foundation and others help to strengthen, promote and provide leadership on the development of philanthropy and social investment worldwide.

Chris uses technology to advocate sustainability and social inclusion. His multimedia educational resource, COMPASS, was named model program by the U.S. Department of Education, and his 10-part web series on the Stonewall Riots was described as "one of the best articles relating to the historic uprising." As a digital content specialist for Lambda Legal, Chris helped advance LGBT issues, including marriage equality, and he participated in public awareness campaigns during the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street in 2011.

A former scientist, Chris believes that basic biological principles can explain how cities and societies evolve, and that we can use this knowledge to guide our social ecosystems. He is a member of the Network Society and the Posthuman Research Group NY chapter, which both explore solutions for collective social progress. His current research focuses on urban sustainability and creating a framework for distributed social networking for CSOs. Chris has a B.S. in biology and a B.A. in English, and he studied digital rhetoric and cultural studies at George Mason University's Graduate Writing Program.
