Cherise Sherriffe, M.S.Program Coordinator, SAGE Center Bronx
Cherise Sherriffe is the Program Coordinator of SAGE Center Bronx at Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE). Cherise is a graduate of the College of New Rochelle, where she received a B.A. in Psychology and an M.S. in Gerontology. She is currently pursuing qualification as a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Senior Advisors.
A career-long advocate for the disenfranchised, Cherise is an experienced program coordinator, recreational coordinator and case manager, having worked with the East Side House Settlement Program, Mitchell NYCHA Housing, Project FIND, and New York City Health and Hospitals/Bellevue.
Cherise is married and the mother of two adult children, yet she continues to commit herself to the entertainment, education and enrichment of the lives of the elderly and disenfranchised, and promotes awareness through Gerontology programming. She is an author, artist, mentor and leader in the community where she continues to volunteer by conducting workshops for older adults who want to explore their inner artist. She also enjoys salsa dancing, the Turner Classic Movies channel, roller-skating, and traveling to new places.
