Christina Da Costa is the Online Media Manager for the National Resource Center on LGBT Aging, the country's first federally funded resource center dedicated to improving the quality of services and supports for the country's older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender older adults. Lead by Services and Advocacy for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Elders (SAGE) in partnership with 10 national organizations, the Resource Center will provide critically needed information and tools for LGBT older adults, LGBT organizations, and aging service providers to improve the quality of services and supports offered to LGBT older adults across the country. Da Costa develops and manages the National Resource Center's website, social media sites, and educational and training materials to generate knowledge, networking, and information sharing on LGBT aging and best practices for serving this population.
Da Costa previously served as the Public Education Manager for SAGE, the country's oldest and largest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. In this role, she oversaw SAGE's online media strategy, creating and producing print and digital media campaigns to promote the organization's breadth of services and programs for LGBT adults in the New York City community. Da Costa also managed SAGE's organizational website, Facebook and Twitter pages, which resulted in a 60% increase of web traffic to these sites and increased brand awareness for SAGE. Her expertise and knowledge includes Adobe Flash, Photoshop, Publisher, InDesign, Illustrator, web design, graphic design, and extensive HTML code.
Da Costa earned her Bachelor's of Arts from New York University, graduating summa cum laude with a major in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy. She also is the co-creator and co-author of Thirty Bucks a Week, a food blog that chronicles the attempts to live on $15 worth of groceries per person, every week in Brooklyn, NY.
