Roy Inman
Administrative Associate, The SAGE Centerrinman@sageusa.org
Roy Inman is the Administrative Associate at The SAGE Center, the nation’s first full-time center for LGBT older adults. Established in 2012 through a New York City Department for the Aging Innovative Senior Center initiative, the center provides a diverse range of services and programming including arts and culture, food and nutrition, fitness, health and wellness, and lifelong education. Roy assists The SAGE Center Manager in overseeing the day-to-day activities of the center, coordinates the reception desk for SAGE, and is responsible for maintaining and updating participant records.
Roy has a BA from the University of Illinois in Communications and Mass Media. For almost 20 years he was involved in the corporate world in the Insurance Industry, engaged in administrative, claims handling and computer records maintenance duties and client interaction. He became involved with SAGE, and with the nonprofit world in general, when he became a volunteer with the SAGEWorks program (SAGE’s program for helping to prepare LGBT individuals 40 years of age and older who are trying to reenter the work force, or to find new employment). When The SAGE Center opened up, Roy thought it seemed like a natural move for him to become a part of it.
