Zoraida Ramos is the Assistant Program Manager of the SAGEWorks program at Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE), the country's largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBT older adults. SAGEWorks is a work readiness program for LGBT older adults over the age of 40. In her role, she leads SAGEWorks' monthly orientations, which introduce participants to the different components of SAGE, the various employment resources and assistance within SAGEWorks and the AARP Worksearch site. Following the orientations, Zoraida facilitates One-on-One Employment Assessment interviews with each participant, providing employment counseling and resume assistance.
Previous to her role at SAGEWorks, she was the Program Assistant at SAGE Harlem. SAGE Harlem provides services, information, referrals, programming, educational presentations and social activities in a safe space for older LGBT residents of Harlem. At SAGE Harlem, Zoraida assisted with the coordination of programming, social events and activities and administered the program's administrative duties.
From 2009 to early 2011, Zoraida worked as the Data Consultant/Administrative Support staff at Arbor Education and Training in Staten Island, a Back to Work program for individuals receiving public assistance. At Arbor, she administered the Daily Timekeeping System, which tracked the attendance of all participants, provided employment leads and resume assistance. Zoraida studied at Lincoln University, majoring in Human Services.
