Thea Cook

Administrative Associate, SAGE Center Midtown

Thea Cook is an Administrative Associate at the SAGE Center Midtown. She previously worked as a legal secretary in the corporate restructuring practice at the law firm of Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP for 11 years. At Weil Gotshal, Thea was a leader on the firm’s environmental committee and joined their efforts volunteering in New York City parks. Previously, Thea held administrative positions in the communications, retail, financial products and non-profit sectors.

Thea is in finishing a full-length novel and a collection of personal experience essays. She has a lifelong passion for opera, and has produced numerous vocal recitals. She has authored academic articles, libretto translations, singer interviews, and reviews for classical music publications including Opera Quarterly, Opera Today, and and contributes to CD liner notes for the British record label, Opera Rara.

Thea is among the top 100 ranked female competitive chess players in the United States. She is a cum laude graduate of Ohio University with Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Mathematics.
