Jose CollazoSite Manager, SAGE Center Bronx
Jose has been working in the LGBTQ community for over 15 years. He has developed, implemented and evaluated outcome based Health and Wellness programs for both LGBTQ youth and adult population. He has worked with a diverse population that have been impacted by a wide range of issues including substance use homelessness, domestic violence, incarceration, unemployment and HIV/AIDS.
At the Hetrick Martin Institute he developed programs to prepare LGBTQ youth for work and/or college. At El Museo del Barrio, Jose managed the Work Experience Program (WEP) as well as the SCSEP programs (Title V). Prior to coming to SAGE, José worked at GMHC as Coordinator for the Health Home program which helps older adults with their health care.
Jose graduated with his B.S. in Criminal Justice/Pre Law at Syracuse University and received his M.S. in Urban Affairs with a concentration in nonprofit management. In his free time, José loves to play softball, work out in the gym, read sci-fi, fantasy books, and vampire books (Ann Rice fan), and watching his two favorite New York teams: the Yankees and the Jets.
