About SAGE Hudson County

SAGE Hudson County is a program of Hudson Pride Connections Center and is an affiliate of the national SAGE organization based in New York. SAGE Hudson County seeks to build community, provide social avenues, and to shift the aging paradigm within the 40+ GLBTQ population. Hudson Pride provides access to important resources and referrals regarding health care, social services, and community activities.

Recent Highlights

SAGE Hudson County is in full swing with educational and social events. In the month of September and October SAGE had several guest educational speakers from organizations such as the Northeast New Jersey Legal Services, and Medicare and Medicaid information sessions. This month SAGE Hudson County members will be visiting the Montclair Art Museum's new Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit and attending the Jersey City Artist Studio Tour.

We are excited to announce that Melissa Dobzinski, a Masters of Social Work intern from Rutgers, is now working with our SAGE program. Her interests include aging-in-place, community based services and advocacy for LGBT seniors. Melissa has many educational and social events planned for Hudson County’s SAGE members.

About Hudson Pride Connections Center

Hudson Pride Connections Center, established in 1993, exists to bridge the gap in services, to respond to the unmet needs, and to enhance the cultural lives and communities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning people in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.

Originally known as Jersey City Connections, Hudson Pride Connections Center is happy to offer a number of different services, programs and events to a diverse LGBTQ community in the Northern NJ region. Our programs and services include transgender programming youth groups, legal advocacy, health education, outreach services, financial assistance and social service linkages. After 14 years of serving the community, in the summer of 2007, Hudson Pride acquired a 3-story historic home from the late 19th century in one of the most diverse cities in the world. The center is home to the 32 Jones Art Gallery, The David Bohnett Cyber Center and many community partners including: Hudson Diversity Action Council (HDAC), The Pride Network, Chillfest, SAGE Hudson County NJ.
