SAGE services and advocacy efforts and SAGE Center functions are specifically outlined and mandated by the SAGE strategic plan and the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA). The SAGE Communities Advisory Council is a volunteer council of SAGE stakeholders whose work is guided by SAGE’s strategic plan and DFTA regulations. Members of the Advisory Council shall listen to and engage in dialogue with all of the various SAGE communities and administration, with the aim of assuring the most comprehensive and effective implementation of SAGE Center services and other SAGE NYC-based programs and services.
The NYC SAGE Communities Advisory Council will consist of eleven members, six of them elected. Four of those members will be selected from this ballot. Two members will be elected from the Harlem Program in a separate voting process. Five members of this council will be appointed by SAGE staff upon the conclusion of this election to insure the diversity of SAGE programs and populations are fairly represented.
