Christian Hansen Appel is the Women’s Program Coordinator; Arts, Education and Technology, SAGE Center Midtown, at Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE). She is a founder and co-facilitator of the TransGenerational Theatre Project, a multigenerational theatre project based at SAGE that brings together transgender and gender non-conforming people of all ages to create theatre from their own ideas. She has also coordinated the SAGE Transgender Day of Remembrance for the past two years.

Christian has lived all over the country and is a graduate of the Pittsburgh Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs and the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship. She is passionate about gender, racial and economic justice and is committed to uplifting the voices of LGBT people of all ages.

Outside of SAGE, Christian is a proud member of the Tight Braid Group, an LGBTQ performance collective, and regularly performs solo performance and musical work as well. She loves being in nature, reading speculative fiction, and dancing up a storm!
