SAGE Statement on Supreme Court Decision Overturning Roe v. Wade

The following statement can be attributed to SAGE CEO Michael Adams:

“Consistent with our commitment to gender equity, SAGE stands with those fighting across the country to defend the right to choose. Our community’s elders remind us that many LGBTQ+ people came of age during a time when their most intimate behavior was criminalized, so bodily autonomy has always been core to LGBTQ+ liberation and equality. Our elders also remind us that rights won one day can be lost on another – the fight for our rights does not end. The same forces and ideologies that seek today to deny the right to choose an abortion and the right of transgender youth to exist will tomorrow work to end LGBTQ+ rights to sexual intimacy and marriage. We stand or fall together. SAGE stands in support of the right to choose for women and all people.”
