A new photography exhibit in Manhattan inspires visitors to respect their elders this Pride Week. Portraits of six LGBT subjects between the ages of 56 and 84 are on display at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, along with descriptions of their personal stories.

The photos are visible from the sidewalk on Wooster Street.

"Everyone doesn't come out when they're 8, 9, 10, and 11. Some of us wait until we're 45, and then we discover that's where we are. So I thought that history was important to document," said Nora Ann Thompson, who is featured in the exhibit.

"It really is highlighting their stories and their naratives, something that hasn't been seen the mainstream, so we're really excited to tell their stories and for peple to see them," said Co-curator Peter "Souleo" Wright.
