November 14th Town Hall on Housing Discrimination Against LGBTQ Older Adults

The University of Arizona
Did you know that it’s still legal to discriminate in housing on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in 32 states, including most of Arizona? This has to change. Find out what’s being done and how you can help!

Please join The Pima Council On Aging for the November 14th Town Hall  to Stop Housing Discrimination Against LGBTQ Older Adults.

PCOA is the Project Leader, in collaboration with a group of concerned organizations, as part of the SAGE National LGBT Elder Housing Campaign, to present this important event.

Featured speakers will include Karin Uhlich of Tucson City Council, Serena Worthington of SAGE, and a panel of experts from the AZ ACLU, SW Fair Housing Council, SAAF, and Copper Canyon Alzheimer’s Special Care Center, with the opportunity for community dialogue. PCOA and collaborators are working together to expand equal treatment for all.

In order to identify possible individual spokespersons, the event organizers invite those who have experienced or witnessed anti-LGBT housing discrimination towards an older adult to contact SAGE’s Serena Worthington at or at 773-508-1058, even if you wish to remain anonymous. She is working to bring attention to this issue through the media.

Please mark your calendars to join us at the Town Hall on November 14, 1:30-4:30, at the Donna Liggins Center, 2160 N. 6th Ave., Tucson, and help spread the word by forwarding this message to your networks.
