How we use donor information when you become a donor to SAGE
When you donate to SAGE, we gather your contact information whether you contribute to SAGE online or via mail, or when you join us at a public event. SAGE uses donor information by sending our supporters communications about SAGE’s work, requesting support and upgrading or renewing your membership.
SAGE also uses donor information gathered through the SAGE website to improve our web-based services. SAGE periodically performs statistical analyses of aggregate user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of various areas of our website and to use such information to improve on our website’s ability to serve you better.
Cookies: SAGE does not currently use cookies on its website, but may eventually. A cookie is a small piece of data stored on an End User’s hard drive but does not itself contain any personal information. Cookies enhance an End User’s experience by saving the End User from having to log in or provide information each time he or she re-visits a SAGE web page and by customizing content based on an End User’s interests. An End User can choose whether or not he or she wants to use the cookie.
How you receive communications (newsletters, etc.) from SAGE
Individuals will only receive communications from us if you have a) donated to SAGE or became a member of SAGE, or b) signed up to receive information from SAGE through a mailing or brochure, at an event or through some other venue.
Sharing and opt-out procedure
From time to time SAGE may rent, share, or exchange our donors’ names and mailing addresses (whether gathered from online or offline donations) with like-minded organizations. Other than the name and postal mailing address, none of the other personal information a donor provides (including an email address) is ever sold, rented, shared, or exchanged with other organizations or parties.
You are able to “opt-out” of this exchange. To keep your name and address from being sold, rented, shared, or exchanged with other like-minded organizations or to opt-out of receiving future SAGE communications, simply send an email to info@sageusa.org and request that we not share any of your information.
How you can access or correct your information
You can access and correct all your personally identifiable information that we collect online. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections. How we protect your personal and financial information
SAGE is extremely protective of our donor information and the information that we gather on our website. Our website has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. Our web server is located in a locked, secure environment. All databases containing personal information are securely stored on a separate system. As a donor, when you contribute to SAGE online, we use a secure server and encryption to protect your financial and other personal information during transmission. SAGE does not specifically ask children under 18 for any information and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information about them.
