SAGE Responds to Trump Executive Order Targeting Trans Community
Yesterday, President Trump signed an executive order declaring that the federal government would no longer recognize transgender identities. This order does NOT change existing laws, but it signals the hostility this administration plans to show the LGBTQ+ community.
Our transgender and non-binary (TGNB) elders – and all trans and gender expansive people – cannot be erased to serve a political agenda. SAGE will never stop advocating for the rights of all LGBTQ+ elders to define their own existence. No executive order can write away the bravery, resilience, and pride of TGNB elders.
