Staci Alexander is the Vice-President of Thought Leadership at AARP and leads a dynamic team of issue experts working across sectors to cultivate and elevate new ideas, solutions, and relationships to make healthy longevity accessible to all. Staci has an MPA from City University of New York, Baruch School of Public Affairs, and a BA in political science from Vassar College. Staci also graduated from the Leadership Fairfax (Virginia) Institute Class of 2020.
Staci was elected to the SAGE Board in 2023. She also serves on the Institute for Exceptional Care board, an organization committed to improving healthcare outcomes for people with developmental disabilities. Staci is also a volunteer commissioner for the Fairfax County, Virginia Housing and Redevelopment Agency.
Staci has a rich history of cultivating partnerships and alliances supporting mission-driven goals across policy development, philanthropy, and communication. Staci has worked as a staffer in the United States Senate, a lobbyist for urban and rural affordable housing development, and a grantmaker. Before joining AARP, Staci worked in public media as Assistant Director with MacNeil/Lehrer Productions and Senior Associate of the Community Strategies Group for the Aspen Institute.
